1. Summary

CrispVoice is an iPhone app that records, edits, and exports audio and video on your device. We don't have a server, we don't host an account system, and your recordings never leave your phone unless you explicitly share them. This page explains what that means in detail.

2. What we collect

The CrispVoice app, as installed on your iPhone, processes the following data locally on your device:

• Audio recordings you create with the in-app recorder.
• Audio and video files you import from Voice Memos, Files, or Photos.
• Transcripts generated by Apple's on-device Speech framework against the audio above.
• App preferences (export presets, transcript-edit crossfade toggle, etc.) stored in iOS user defaults.
• Subscription status retrieved from the App Store via Apple's StoreKit so we know whether to unlock Pro features.

All of the above is held in the app's sandbox on your device and is excluded from iCloud Backup unless you explicitly opt in.

3. What we don't collect

• We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any account credentials. CrispVoice has no sign-in.
• We do not collect your audio recordings, transcripts, or rendered exports. They are never transmitted to us or to any third party we control.
• We do not collect device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV) for advertising. CrispVoice contains no ad networks or third-party SDKs.
• We do not collect analytics or telemetry. The app makes no network calls of its own to our infrastructure.

4. On-device processing

Pause analysis, sentence boundary detection, transcription, audio rendering, and video composition are performed entirely on your device using Apple frameworks (AVFoundation, Accelerate, the Speech framework, and the Apple Intelligence-powered Speech Analyzer where available).

If your iPhone or iOS version cannot perform a given operation on-device, the operation is disabled rather than offloaded to a server. CrispVoice requires iPhone 15 or newer running iOS 18 or later — older devices aren't supported because Apple Intelligence's on-device Speech Analyzer is only available on the A17 Pro and later silicon, and we won't ship a fallback that sends audio to a server.

5. Third parties

The only third party CrispVoice interacts with is Apple:

• App Store / StoreKit — for purchasing, restoring, and validating subscriptions. Apple's Privacy Policy applies to those interactions.
• Speech framework / Speech Analyzer — for on-device transcription. No audio is sent to Apple.
• iCloud Backup — only if you have iCloud Backup enabled in iOS Settings and CrispVoice is included in your backup set. Recordings, by default, are excluded from iCloud Backup.

If you choose to share an exported recording via the iOS share sheet (Mail, Messages, AirDrop, third-party apps, etc.), the destination's privacy policy applies once the file leaves CrispVoice.

6. iPhone permissions we request

• Microphone — required to record audio in-app.
• Speech Recognition — required for on-device transcription. Stays on-device.
• Photos (read-only) — used only when you tap "Choose video from Photos." We read the file you pick; we do not enumerate your library.

You may revoke any permission at any time in Settings → CrispVoice. Revoking a permission disables the corresponding feature but does not delete any project you've already created.

7. Children's privacy

CrispVoice is rated 4+ and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Because the app collects no personal information at all, this section is descriptive rather than restrictive.

8. Your rights

Because CrispVoice does not collect or store your data on our infrastructure, there is no remote copy for us to access, correct, port, or delete. Your data lives on your iPhone:

• Access & export — every project's exported file is available via the in-app share sheet.
• Deletion — swipe to delete any project in the Library tab, or uninstall the app to remove every project, draft, and preference.
• Subscription data — managed by Apple. Visit apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions to view or cancel.

Residents of the EU/EEA, UK, California, and other jurisdictions with comprehensive privacy laws have additional rights under those laws. To the extent we ever collect personal data in the future, we'll honor those rights and update this policy.

9. Changes to this policy

We'll post any material changes to this page and update the "Last updated" date. Substantive changes affecting how your data is handled will also be flagged inside the app on next launch.
