Getting started

How do I record a clip?

Tap the + button in the top-right of the Projects tab and pick Record. Tap the microphone, speak, and tap stop. Your clip is analyzed automatically and lands in the Library.

How do I import an existing recording?

Tap the + button → Import audio file. Pick a .m4a, .mp3, .wav, .aac, or .caf from Files / iCloud Drive. For video (.mov, .mp4, .m4v), use Choose video from Photos — Pro feature.

What's the difference between Crisp and Snip & Cut?

Crisp tightens hesitation pauses without changing what you said. Snip & Cut opens a transcript-driven editor so you can remove words or whole sentences and reorder them. You can use both — Snip & Cut first, then Crisp the result.

How do I combine two recordings?

In the Projects tab, long-press any project to enter selection mode. Tap a second project of the same media type (audio + audio for now), then tap Combine in the top-right. CrispVoice concatenates them in selection order, runs a fresh analysis, and adds the result as a new project.

Pro & subscriptions

What does Pro unlock?

How much does Pro cost?

US$4.99 / month or US$39.99 / year. Subscriptions auto-renew until canceled. Local pricing may differ based on your App Store region.

How do I cancel?

Open Settings on your iPhone → tap your name at the top → SubscriptionsCrispVoiceCancel Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; you keep Pro access until then.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple, not us. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the CrispVoice purchase, and request a refund within Apple's eligibility window.

I bought Pro but don't see Pro features.

Open the in-app paywall and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID you used at purchase. If that doesn't help, email support@crispvoice.app with your purchase receipt.

Privacy & data

Where is my audio stored?

On your iPhone only, inside CrispVoice's app sandbox under Documents/Clips/. Recordings are excluded from iCloud Backup by default.

Does CrispVoice transcribe in the cloud?

No. Transcription uses Apple's on-device Speech framework (and Apple Intelligence Speech Analyzer where available). Audio never leaves your phone.

How do I delete a project?

In the Projects tab, swipe left on the project row and tap Delete. The recording, draft state, and any cached renders are removed.

How do I delete everything?

Uninstall CrispVoice from the home screen. iOS removes the entire app sandbox, including every recording, draft, and preference. There is nothing to delete from a server because we don't have one.

Troubleshooting

The transcript looks incomplete.

Open Snip & Cut and tap Regenerate. Long clips occasionally have the on-device recognizer end early; regenerating runs the chunked path which handles them better.

Cleaned playback sounds out of sync with the transcript.

Tap Apply in the Crisper toolbar to render against your current settings. Most highlight drift is the cleaned audio file being older than your latest edits.

Video export takes a long time.

Burning subtitles or forcing re-encode for compatibility re-encodes every frame, which is slower than the default passthrough. Settings → Always re-encode for compatibility — turn it off if you don't need the broader-target compatibility.

The app crashes on a specific clip.

Email us with the clip's duration, format, and the iOS version. We'll dig in. Don't send the clip itself unless we ask — we won't be able to read it from a screenshot, and we want to respect your privacy.

Accessibility

CrispVoice supports Dynamic Type, VoiceOver labels on every interactive element, Reduce Motion, and high-contrast color modes. If you hit an accessibility issue, please email — we treat these as bugs, not enhancements.
